What are we measuring?
This performance
measure assesses the cost and level of consumption for various utility services,
i.e. electricity, water, etc. in County buildings.
Why are we measuring it?
This performance
measure is tracked to provide management with information regarding energy and
water use in county buildings. The objective is to lower the County’s overall
utility cost through the use of SMART technologies and conservation measures at County
buildings.
How are we doing?
The recent implementation by the Department of Real Estate and Asset Management of a new utility management system (EnergyCap) will provide the ability to capture, analyze, and interpret large volumes of utility data which will improve utility budgeting and support savings through rate negotiations. The ultimate objective is to lower the County’s overall utility cost through the use of SMART technologies and conservation measures at County buildings.
