What are we measuring?
This measure represents the percentage of households in Fulton County receiving benefits through the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)--also know as the Food Stamp Program--in the past 12 months.   SNAP is a federally-funded program that provides monthly benefits to low-income households to help pay for the cost of food. A household may be a single individual living alone, a family, or several unrelated individuals living together who routinely purchase and prepare meals together.

How are we doing?
As of 2017, 11.5% of households in Fulton County received Food Stamp, placing the County in the middle of its benchmark counties, which ranged from 5.8% in Wake County, North Carolina to 17.9% in Milwaukee County, Wisconsin.
