What are we measuring?
Students in high school grades and lower may be eligible for free or reduced price school meals under the National School Lunch Program, which is administered by U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and operated by state agencies.  Students may qualify for the program based on household income and family size.  Students also qualify based on their status as homeless, migrant, runaway or foster child.
How are we doing?
In 2018, over half of students attending public schools in Fulton County were eligible for free or reduced price meals.  Within the Atlanta Public School system, nearly three-quarters of students were eligible while about 44% of student in Fulton County Schools qualified.
